PayNorth's calculator runs entirely in your web browser. We operate no application servers and no database. The payroll information you enter — businesses, employees, hours, wages, pay stubs — is stored only in your browser on your device, and is never transmitted to us. We cannot see it, access it, back it up, or recover it.
We do not collect, receive, or store: names or details of your business or employees; wages, hours, tips or deductions; generated pay stubs or records; Social Insurance Numbers (the product deliberately never asks for them).
The application uses your browser's local storage to save your work between visits, on your device only. Clearing your browser data erases it; the app provides backup and restore tools so you can protect your own records. Backup files you export are ordinary files on your device under your control.
We use no analytics or tracking cookies on this site.
If you contact us at hello@pay-north.ca, we use your email address to reply. If you opt in to product updates, you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every message, per Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Generating a PDF may load the open-source jsPDF library from a public content delivery network (Cloudflare, jsDelivr or unpkg) if a local copy is unavailable; this transfers no payroll data — it only downloads code. If you purchase a Pro subscription, payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number, and the only subscription information handled by our site is an anonymous licence token used to verify your Pro status. Under PIPEDA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information an organization holds about you. Because we hold none of your payroll data, those rights are effectively in your hands already: your data is on your device, and you may delete it at any time via Settings → Erase all data. For anything related to email correspondence, contact us and we will act promptly.
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with a new effective date. Material changes (for example, if cloud backup accounts launch) will be clearly announced in the product before they apply.
